Q- Are ASAP classes being held at this time?
A- Effective June 1, 2022, all classes will be held in person. Please note all fees must be paid in full to resume your scheduled class.
Q- How will I be notified if a class is canceled due to inclement weather or other reasons?
A- In the event of inclement weather both the front page of our website and our phone lines will be updated. In the event of an emergency cancelation (instructor illness, etc), clients will be emailed directly. Please make sure to have an updated email address on file at all times.
Q- I have never had any charges or convictions that include alcohol or drugs. Why am I being told by DMV to do an Intervention Interview with ASAP?
A- The Intervention Interview has nothing to do with alcohol or drugs. The interview is required for being convicted of driving while suspended more than twice in a certain period of time. This is a services that ASAPs complete for DMV outside of DUI probation.
Q- Are Intervention Interview classes being held at this time?
A- Yes.
Q- My case has been returned to court as non-compliant / I am not sure if I have an upcoming court date?
A- Please visit this site or contact your local court for more information: http://www.courts.state.va.us/
Q- I received a letter from DMV stating my suspension will be ending soon and/or my restricted license will expire. What do I do?
A- The DMV sends this letter to all clients about 3 months prior to the end of any suspension or restricted license. ASAP cannot update DMV with you completion until the last 30 days of your probation period. Please feel free to contact your case manager if you have any concerns.
Q- I have completed the ASAP program and my restricted license is ending soon. Will DMV be notified?
A- JTASAP will continue to update DMV electronically regarding ASAP completion; however, the agency can only update DMV within your last 30 days of supervision
Q- I have an appointment scheduled at DMV, will my information be entered prior to my appointment?
A- Please alert your case manager to any upcoming DMV appointments. JTASAP is unable to guarantee the necessary information is entered if we do not know when your appointment is scheduled. If you fail to alert your case manager of your appointment and your information has not been updated, we will make every effort possible to ensure all information is processed and entered as soon as possible.
Q- I am trying to install the interlock and I am being told that ASAP needs to send my vehicle information to the interlock company, how do I do this?
A- Please provide the office with your vendor choice, and the following vehicle information: make, model, year, VIN, license plate number along with a copy of your green restricted license. Note, if you are a habitual offender your restricted license paperwork may be white. Click here for a list of approved vendors along with the ignition interlock orientation video. Please view the video prior to installation.
Q- I got a restricted license from the court. When can I drive?
A- This answer varies for many different reasons based on conviction type, license issued, and any interlock or DMV requirements. Please contact our office for the answer for your specific case.
Q- I completed my final calibration. How can I schedule my removal?
A- ASAP gets notified by your vendor each time you take the device in for calibration. If you feel you have completed your final calibration, please contact your case manager to review the reports. After your final calibration is reviewed, your case manager will contact with you regarding authorization of removal. You will then contact your vendor directly to schedule the removal appointment. Please be advised that your "interlock compliance date" is specifically calculated on many factors. Having gone to your vendor a certain number of times does not mean that you have met the requirement. If you have questions regarding your specific case information, please contact your case manager or our front desk staff.
Q- I would like to request early removal of the interlock device, how can I do this?
A- Early removal requests/petitions must be approved by the court. Please contact your court of referral to review their ability to handle this matter prior to contacting JTASAP. If you are requesting early removal of your interlock device, you will need a status letter from your case manager.
Q- Are substance abuse treatment providers offering appointments/groups at this time?
